Who: Introducing Jasper Hale
Where: Freedomtown Park
When: Thursday Evening
What: Jasper's Arrival
Rating: Low
Status: Open (I imagine Alice would find him first, but open to others as well); Ongoing

Like most people who had arrived on Galador, Jasper's first experience of it was jarring. It had just passed midday at home and his thoughts had wandered to Alice (as they often did) when he felt an unfamiliar, uncomfortable pull in the pit of his stomach. One second he was home and the next he was in the middle of a park and it was evening. Alarmed, he looked up at the stars to try to gauge where he was. He didn't recognize any constellations. Nothing about the place was familiar. So how did he get there? What was going on?

From the moment Alice had seen a vision of herself and Jasper reunited again, she had been on cloud nine. She'd been waiting for her husband to join her on Galador for 20 very long months. When the day arrived, she flitted around their home in an impossibly good mood, making sure that everything felt just right.

When evening rolled around, Alice donned a retro styled dress that fell off her pale shoulders and swished whenever she moved. She blew kisses to her family members and promised them she'd be back home with Jasper soon. They were just as anxious to see him, of course, but understood Alice needed some alone time with him first.

She made her way over to MarVell park and settled herself on a bench to wait. After about an hour had passed, a bright light flashed in the center of the park. Alice shielded her eyes. When the light faded and she lowered her hand, there he was. Just as she knew he would be.

Alice's face lit up and she was up and off the bench in a flash. While she wanted to make a mad dash for his arms and bowl him over, she also knew how unsettling it was to arrive here and didn't want to startle him too much. So instead she walked toward him as he gazed up at the stars. She stopped a few yards away from him and smiled.

"You're late. Again."

Alice. A lopsided smile spread across Jasper's face as he turned to look at his wife. They could literally be anywhere and she'd always find him. "My apologies, ma'am. Must've taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque," he rumbled in his Texan drawl, bowing his head apologetically. Late, she'd said. That raised a lot of questions, since where he'd come from he'd seen her a little more than an hour ago. He gazed at her for a moment, sensing her relief and a lingering... heartache. But mostly? Joy. He reached out a hand toward her, inviting her in. "What is this place?"

She lingered there for a moment and let the sound of his voice saying her name wash over her. It made her heart ache in a good way to hear it again after so long. He was so perfectly Jasper as he apologized to her with his drawling accent.

As soon as he reached his hand out, she was there like a shot, pressed against him with her arms wrapped tightly around him. Before she could answer his question, there was something she couldn't wait any longer to do. She pressed her lips to his in a kiss.

Jasper let out a surprised grunt when Alice wrapped her arms around him, but he was quick to relax and was all to happy to kiss her back, reaching up to trace his thumb along her cheek. He didn't quite understand the emotions coming off of her -- not so much the emotions themselves but why she was feeling them. While his first instinct was to soothe Alice, he let her be for the moment, knowing that she'd explain everything when she could.

It was still... very overwhelming. She always did find ways to surprise him. When their lips finally parted, he gazed into her eyes and let the silence settle between them for a moment.

She was well aware that her particular emotions in that moment were likely as confusing to Jasper as this entire situation. She just needed a moment with him before she launched into an explanation. She also knew that he trusted her enough to be patient. He was endlessly patient with her. One of the many reasons he was, and always would be, her soulmate.

She gazed into his eyes for a long moment after their kiss ended, just basking in his presence. She did keep her arms looped around his shoulders, however, unwilling to let him go again just yet.

"Hi." She leaned up on her tiptoes and kissed the tip of his nose. "Welcome to Galador. I've been waiting here for you." She finally released him from her embrace, but moved to lace her fingers through his instead. She lead him back toward the bench she'd been previously sitting on. "It's kind of a long story."

Jasper's face lit up when Alice pecked his nose. "Hi," he rumbled in reply. Her actions, her words, always delighted him. When she laced their fingers he gave her hand a gentle squeeze. They were here (wherever here happened to be) and they were together and ultimately that's all that mattered. Without her he knew that he'd be a rudderless boat in a vast ocean. What one person lacked, the other provided. It was why they worked so well together.

Once she sat down on the bench he sat down beside her, still holding her hand. "Then start at the beginning and spare no detail." He had the feeling that she had quite the story to tell. Whatever she had to say, he'd listen to intently. He always did.

Alice draped herself on the bench with supernatural grace. She turned so she was facing him while nestling as close as possible at the same time. She lifted their entwined hands up to her lips and kissed the back of his hand.

"Everything I'm about to say is going to sound crazy, but I promise every word of it is true. You trust me, right?" She paused to let him answer. Of course she knew he did, but it was still nice to hear him say it.

"To start with, we aren't on Earth anymore. This is a different planet, in a different universe than what we've always known. When you arrived here just now, it was due to a very powerful gemstone- the reality stone- it predates the universe and can bend the confines of reality. For the past several years, the gem has been selecting people from different worlds, bending space and reality, and bringing them here to this place. For the first few years, the gem and all the people displaced by it were on a moving space station. However, as more and more people kept arriving, it was decided that we would be moved here to this planet. It's called Galador and there are several different cities where all the residents can live. There are so many wonderful people here. Other vampires, witches, humans, aliens. There's no cause to hide who we are here."

She paused a moment to gauge his reaction and make sure she wasn't overwhelming him with too much too quickly.

"Always," Jasper replied. He had no reason to doubt Alice. She would always tell him the truth. He gave her hand a squeeze and listened intently. When she fully explained where they were his eyebrows shot up in surprise. They were 'vegetarian' vampires in a world that didn't know that they existed. Now, they were in a world, a universe that was aware of them and didn't bat an eyelash. That was a lot to take in.

Still. His first thought was always about Alice and her well-being. "So, if this gem takes people from different times and different places," he started to say in his Texan drawl, "then, what's the last thing that you remember from back home? And how long have you been here?" That worried him most of all. For him they'd barely been apart at all, but how much time had passed for Alice?

"A few years had passed since our confrontation with the Volturi. Things were finally calm for once, and you and I were planning a trip for ourselves. Unfortunately, I arrived here before we ever got the chance." Her words and tone were light, but he'd feel the sadness she was holding back about it all. "It's been almost two years since I arrived here." Not a long time in the grand scheme of their lives, but it felt like eternity without him.

Almost two years. That explained the feelings rolling off of Alice in waves. Jasper lifted their entwined hands to give the back of her hand a kiss this time. "Well," he started to say, "I guess you got a head start on our vacation." He gave her a lopsided smile.

Still. Due to the nature of his ability, he felt the weight of that time spent apart on Alice's end and his heart broke for her. "I'm here now and I'm not goin' anywhere," he promised, holding her gaze. "Whatever happens next we'll face it together."

She couldn't help the smile that brightened her entire face as he lifted her hand to kiss. She wrinkled her nose at him and darted in to give him a peck on the lips. "Guess I did."

She knew they needed to go over to the Welcome Center. So the staff there could record his arrival and get him a communication device, but she wasn't really ready to share him just yet. "I got us a house in the city of Monstropolis. I know the name sounds bad, but it's really wonderful. I'm good friends with the Princesses there. Bella and Edward are here, there are two versions of Ness. Carlisle's here, and now you."

Jasper's face lit up when she gave him that quick kiss.

"If you picked Monstropolis as a place for us to live then I know that it'll be wonderful." Of course she'd made friends with royalty. Alice could make a friend out of anyone if she had a mind to. "And I'll be happy to see our family soon, but... not just yet."

She beamed at that and snuggled in against him. She lay her head against his chest and wrapped his arms around her. "I'm happy to stay right here for as long as you want."
