Party Time! Excellent!
Who: Alex, OT Anyone and Everyone
Where: Alex's Room, #301 Devron
What: Impromptu party
When: Saturday, January 9th
Rating: I'm going to say high at this point, so as not to restrict anyone

Alex had been taken, among others, by The Collector. A being with the intense desire to... well, collect the finest achievements of this universe and, as it turns out, due to the power of an infinity gem, any other being from any number of multiple universes. Alex, however, had been a happy accident as Cosima was one of the people that he truly wanted. Alex wouldn't let her go without a fight so she'd been taken as well.

Which was making a long story short.

Anyway.

Alex decided to have a party to celebrate her return home. She acquired alcohol, dressed in her favorite color (black), turned the music up loud, then opened the door to her apartment...

Tony could sniff out a party super easy. You might even say that it was a super power of his. When he caught wind that someone named Alex was throwing a bit of a party due to not being kidnapped anymore, you bet your ass he was going to be there. Not only was that super worthy of celebrating, he MIGHT have a bit of extra nonsense on his mind due to a certain blond haired girl popping up swearing (sometimes literally) that she was his daughter with Carol, a woman that, to be polite, one might say that he had developed an excess of feeling about. Yeah, shit was complicated, OK?

Anyway, when he walked by Alex's place, he heard the music blasting and smiled. "Nice taste in music," he said to her as he walked in.

Anyway, when he walked by Alex's place, he heard the music blasting and smiled. "Nice taste in music," he said to her as he walked in.

Alex spun around and grinned broadly when she spotted Tony. Not that she knew him, but it was nice that the party was getting started, at least! "The sound system's set up on bluetooth, so if you wanna play something have at it." She walked on over to him and offered him a hand to shake. "Alex."

He reached over and shook her hand. "Tony," he said, grinning back at her. She really did look vaguely familiar to him, but he couldn't quite place her. Multiple worlds and universes made things weird like that sometimes. Then, with his other hand, he also offered her a bottle of champagne. "Figured I'd follow the invite and bring booze as well."

Alex didn't recognize Tony at all, which was probably just as well as this place was confusing enough! "Heeellllooo new best friend." She grinned and took the bottle, then directed him over towards the kitchen. It might have been a last minute decision to have a party, but the kitchen was stocked up with booze in tubs of ice and snacks all over the kitchen tables. One of the pluses of working for DP was that she knew the flight-crew, who tended to take her out without question, so she stocked up fairly quickly. "Anything you want, take. I insist."

Tony kept all of his stuff well stocked, too, so he had no problem sharing some of his stash. "Glad I'm not the only one who keeps stocked up on the good stuff," he said playfully as he followed her inside and peeked inside of the kitchen. He grabbed the first thing closest to him and made himself a drink. He was never known to be too picky about his booze. "What a gracious hostess."

"Well, you caught me on a good day," Alex replied, smiling as she watched Tony fix himself a drink. She set the champagne aside in its appropriate place and grabbed herself a Corona, popping it open with a bottle opener and popping a lemon wedge into the neck before taking a swig. She'd likely drink something stronger later, but as the host she wasn't in a hurry. "So, are you a recent transplant, or are you from around here?"

"I'm a transplant, but I was apart of the first wave," Tony told her after taking a sip of his drink. "So, oddly enough, this place has become something of a second home to me now." Several of his friends and Pepper were here, plus he'd made plenty of new ones after getting here. It was hard to think of ending up back at home. "You more recent?"

Alex thought about that for a moment. "Six months now, come to think of it." Fuck, where did the time go? This place might be a second home to him now, but she couldn't imagine going back to her real home. What was there for her? Gwen certainly wasn't. "What did you do where you were from? Just out of curiosity."

"Time flies here. Trust me." Well, when something tried to kill you every month or so, time really did fly! And it was getting harder to imagine going back himself, now that he thought about it. "I owned my own company and built a suit to be a superhero on the side." Not even a joke. "What about you?"

"You were a superhero?" Alex laughed, although she was quick to try to stifle it. "Sorry, I just can't picture it." She shrugged and sipped more of her Mexican beer. "Well, I guess I shouldn't laugh. I was a drug smuggler. Like I look the part, right?"

"Still kind of am, actually," he pointed out, laughing a little himself. "And I find that those that are the best at things usually don't look the part, don't you?" he teased.

"Now you are an absolute charmer." Alex couldn't remember the last time that she'd immediately liked someone, but Tony totally fit the bill. She indicated they they sit and stools by the kitchen island. No one seemed to be coming in right now, so why not get comfortable. "Soooo.... tell me about you. As much as you want to, anyway."

Tony WAS a charming bastard. He didn't even have to try. He sat down at the kitchen island with her, taking another sip of his drink. "Oh, I'm an open book, really. I'm used to having everyone know everything about me." The joys of the public limelight. "What would you like to know?"

That was refreshingly honest. Alex sipped more of her beer. At this rate she'd likely need another one soon, but despite being in prison for a good while she still had a good alcohol tolerance. Poussey made terrible hooch, but it did the job. "Well, what kind of business are you in?" May as well start with something simple.

"Specialized in technology, perfecting clean energy, but Stark Industries really did dabble in a little bit of everything," he said to her. Well, they didn't do weapons anymore, but ALMOST everything. "At home, honestly, most electronics passed through my company at some point or another."

"So... that basically makes you a billionaire, at least where I'm from." That was kind of a sobering thought. Still, Alex couldn't help it. She doubled over in laughter. "This infinity gem is for shit, dude. You're a hero. You save people. I was a goddamn convict. I was a fucking blight on society. How the fuck are we both here?"

"Basically," he agreed. He'd both grown up with money and made a ton of his own. He watched her laugh for a moment before shrugging. "And before just a few years before I arrived here, I was a giant asshole. Still an asshole, truthfully, but no longer a giant one." He drained the last of his drink. "And I know of at least one homicidal maniac who ended up here, so you're far from the worst. Honestly, if there's any logic to that stupid gem, I think it picks people based on their potential. I think everyone here has the potential to help in some way." He reached for what turned out to be a bottle of scotch and poured himself a glass. "And if Thor's brother ever hears me say that he might have the potential for good, I think he'd eviscerate me on principle alone." Sounded about right coming from Loki.

"Oh no, you still seem like a giant asshole," Alex replied dryly, smirking wryly. She'd liked what she'd seen of Tony so far. But even she had to admit that that was surface stuff. She didn't give away her deepest darkest fears to everyone and she didn't expect anything less from anyone else. "Going from your logic... what potential do we have? Really?"

"I knew my charm could only get me so far," he joked, grinning back. He was finding that he was liking Alex as well so far. "And who knows? I think everyone has the potential for good in them if they're willing to embrace it. I'm the guy who was once called 'The Merchant of Death' because I made weapons for the military. I thought the title was so funny that I tried to order it put on my business cards. If I can change, I really think anyone can." Even previously mentioned psychopaths, although Tony would love to have the chance to chuck him back through a window first.

Alex took the time to finish her drink, then hopped out of her seat to collect another one. "I still feel like we're only as good as we want to be," she said conversationally. But she didn't let the topic of conversation dwell on that for long. "Alright. It's your turn to pick a god-damn song."

"Like I said, you have to want it." Seemed they basically agreed on that. When she made the comment about the music, he got up and did just that, picking out AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long." (Because OF COURSE he did.) "So tell me something about you. Why did you do the drug smuggling thing? Money that good?"

"Oh, the money was great." Still, Alex didn't do it for the money. She had to stop and pause as to why she did it. Did she really want to get into it with a virtual stranger? Then again, it wasn't like Tony tried to hide anything from her. Maybe she owed him some kind of honesty as well. "I did it because I wanted to. I wanted something better than what I had."

He actually appreciated the honesty. Plus, considering his own past screw ups of the highest caliber, he didn't judge. "I can see that." He'd stuck with being Iron Man and working with The Avengers because he'd wanted to be known for more than just a billionaire jackass who slept with everything that caught his eye.

Alex shrugged and went to fixing herself another beer, sliding a slice of lemon in the neck of the bottle again before taking a sip. "I think my work here is more rewarding. I mean, a trained monkey could do it but... it's kind of nice to contribute, you know?"

"What is it that you do here?" he asked, sipping at his scotch. He kind of doubted that it was smuggling drugs, especially if she found it rewarding, but who the hell knew, right?

"I mostly procure items that people can't get here for one reason or another." It was mostly legal, too! "Going to a few adult stores for someone was one of the highlights." She chuckled huskily. "I guess that kind of makes me a personal shopper, huh?"

He laughed. "Sounds like fun, even." In another life, he could certainly see himself doing something like that. (Especially the part about going into an adult store.) "I think personal shopper has a nice ring to it."

"It certain sounds better than drug smuggler," Alex agreed with a chuckle. She really hoped that she'd never get sent back home - she'd created a hell of a life here. But she knew that she had no control over that. So she'd have to make the most of the time that she had.

"It's okay everybody! I'm here!" Raj called out as he entered the apartment. Anyone who knew him could tell that he'd already started on his own stash, because normally he wouldn't have announced himself so eagerly in a room that had women in it. He shuffled over to the kitchen and deposited alcohol into the sink (which was full of ice) and fridge, along with a few non-alcoholic drinks that could be mixed.

"Who wants to play celebrity heads?" He asked loudly, picking out a bottle of beer and uncapping it before taking a swig. He felt much better for having it. His friends said that he was an utter ass when he was drunk, but it was the only way that he could confidently talk like this!

Jane had been somewhat lost since Liara had been sent back to, presumably, home. Which was why she'd offered to help Angela save Cosima and the others from The Collector. She needed to do something, she needed to feel useful--she needed to fight, but after the battle she felt... useless. Unwanted and unneeded. Which was why she jumped at the chance to join Alex's party. To get drunk and forget her worries. She didn't have Serrice Ice Brandy, but she'd found something close enough and she'd bought two bottles of it into the apartment.

The party already seemed well under way. She felt out of place. But it was better to be alone, better than to wonder what might have been. She made her way over to the kitchen, set the alcohol down on the counter, and fixed herself a drink. Let me forget about home, Liara, all of it... she thought. Her prevalent thoughts since arriving here had been about home, about the battle that she'd left behind. Now, more than anything, she wanted to set those thoughts aside. It was driving her mad thinking about the things that she couldn't change. Mad.

"Well god DAMN." Bea Wilson laughed loudly, walking up to Jane with a beer in her hand (Shut up. Her father was pretty much Alex's bestie here, and they all knew that, while only 18, she could hold her alcohol better than most 300 lb. male truck drivers. So sue her for having faith that Alex wouldn't be the type to harsh her buzz here and take it away). The tiny blonde came sauntering up to the older woman in short-shorts and a tight striped tank top that left almost nothing to the imagination, giving a shit-eating grin that wasn't exactly subtle in it's flirtiness. "How YOU doin', huh?" She asked, in her best Joey Tribbiani voice.

Shepard had found herself a glass by that point and poured her brandy into said glass, wanting to drink it neat. When Beatrice started talking to her, her eyebrows shot up. Rambunctious little thing, wasn't she? "Wondering how old you are to be drinking that," she pointed to Beatrice's beer, "but otherwise I'm fine. How are you?"

Chase had been around for a while now, had even made a job for himself, but for as much as he'd done for the small community, he still felt like he hadn't done anything at all. Still, he knew Alex, and even worked with her... and really couldn't pass down free booze. So, he made his way into her apartment and went to fixing himself a drink silently, even as they party went on around him.

Ugh. Talk about AWK-WARRRRD.

Gwen was all kinds of torn here. On one hand, she'd wanted to impress Alex, even going so far as to go out and buy a new dress just to hopefully make the woman speechless.

But on the other hand, she knew that Alex wanted to keep their new relationship hidden for now. So... compromise!

She wore the dress, hoped like hell that Alex would see it, but... otherwise? She purposely stayed away from the brunette beauty. She'd respect Alex's wishes, no matter how awkward it made her feel.
