Talia hadn't been out as much as she'd meant to lately. Once she had her mind set on something it was hard to deter her. She'd been working on a treaty agreement among the communities of Galador and wouldn't rest until she had it right. Peace was a tenuous thing. Especially when it came to advancements. She could tell that one community had more medical power, the other more military and another... well; that one could produce enough food to feed the whole planet. There were pros and cons to each. Back home she tried to provide a safe haven for those who were considered 'against the norm', but on Galador? That was everyone. Most of the communities were displaced and she wanted to ensure that they all had a place to live for a long time to come.
She'd been sitting at her desk typing up one of the many drafts for the treaty before finally stopping to take a rest. It was exhausting work and even then she wasn't sure that anyone would listen to her. She didn't hold the clout here that she did back home. She looked over to the bed to see that Brayden had been watching her. He never could sleep long without her by his side. "I can't help it," she started to say, "wherever I am... I just see a way to make things better," she explained. "Is that so wrong?"
"How could anyone think that's wrong, babe?" Brayden asked her, as though it was the most ludicrous thing he'd ever heard. "You're a great woman, Talia. Helping others is always your top priority, and I only wish I could care that much about others." He got out of bed, not caring that he wasn't wearing a stitch of clothing, and walked over to her, draping his arms over her shoulders from behind.
"It's one of the things that made me fall in love with you." He said, for a moment sounding shockingly mature and sweet. "Along with your ridiculous dick-sucking skills." Yeah, nevermind. Sigh.
He kissed the back of her neck, obviously as infatuated with her now as he was the day they met. "So how's the project going?"
Talia lightly scratched her nails along his forearm, smiling contently. He always had a way of bringing her out of herself, of bringing light and humor into situations that required more... tact. "I'd say 'done', but you know how much of a perfectionist I can be. Maybe a few more days before I send these out." She had an idea for how to send the proposal out to the right people, but that needed some arrangement too. She sighed and leaned back into his embrace. "You take lazing about to a whole new level, you know," she teased, reaching behind her to pinch at his hip.
"What can I say, it's a gift." He deadpanned, in reply to her last sentence. "I prefer to stockpile my energy for when I'm in bed with you." He added, smirking as his embrace tightened a little. He loved this woman more than he really knew how to say, and couldn't even begin to imagine a life without her in it.
"Very smooth reply, Mr. Bale," she purred in reply. She turned her computer off for the moment. She couldn't focus when he was holding her and naked. She took one of his hands and smooched his palm. "Did you have any other plans for the day?"
"I was thinking about looking for a job." He said, continuing quickly, "And don't you dare fucking laugh. I just need.... something to do. I'm not doing music or anything anymore here, and I don't even miss it. But I need to do something besides being a lech."
"Have you thought about being a professional gigolo?" She asked, raising her eyebrows at him. She held her serious expression for all of 2.5 seconds before bursting into a giggle-fit. "Okay, okay. Seriously. What would you like to do? Name it and I'll make it happen."
"Nobody here has enough money to afford what I'd have to charge for sex like this." He said with a smirk, before kissing her on top of the head. "And I don't know... something where I can make some kind of difference around here. Maybe helping out at the Welcome Center or something. It's not like I really need the money."
"You could always volunteer at the LBGT center?" Talia suggested. "Or maybe set up a sports program for kids?" She wasn't entirely sure that she was being helpful, but she'd like to see him do something with all that free time he suddenly had.
".........lot of good-looking bisexual women there...." He smirked, pretending to think of that as a reason to do it. "Kidding. Yeah, that could work... the LGBT center probably needs people more than the Welcome Center..."
She gave him a playful shove at the mention of bisexual women. "Well, I'll hook you up with Laura's email address. Or Lito's." She didn't know them personally, she just made a point to know the names of people. Especially people doing good work. "And you can go from there?"
"Absolutely." He said, showing a serious, more mature side that, honestly, he only trusted Talia enough to see. "You made me a better man, Talia. And I want you to actually SEE that."
She turned in her seat so she could look at him properly and reached up to place a palm to his cheek. "I know that. I see that every day." She wouldn't lie about a thing like that. She held his gaze for a long moment. "More than anything I just want you to be happy."
"Shit, you never have to worry about that." Bray told her, hilariously looking almost ashamed of his display of sweetness and emotion. "I could be poor and living in a goddamn dumpster somewhere and I'll still be happy as long as I have you." He gazed into her eyes, that look saying more than any words could: to him, she was the most beautiful, most desirable, most perfect woman in the world.
Sometimes he said things so romantic that she just had to stop and look at him. Talia smiled and held his gaze. "You and I both know that you'll always have me." She stood up and while still significantly shorter than him, she pressed up on her toes and pulled him down so she could kiss him.
It would be a really sweet visual... were he not completely starkers. His hands went to her hips, and he kissed her like he was never going to get to again, nothing but passion, want, and pure love. This was the part of him that nobody but Talia saw.
Talia did consider it a sweet moment, because she got to see Bray in all his glory. He looked good naked, okay? She kissed him back, lightly tangling her fingers in his short hair with a content moan. "We're so good at that," she purred.
"You kidding me?" He asked with a smug grin. "We're good at a lot. I still say I've never met ANYONE as talented.... orally.... as you." Sigh. Hey, in it's own fucked-up way, that was a compliment, ok?
Well, he'd certainly been a lot more descriptive than that in the past when discussing her talents. "That's the second time you've mentioned that in as many minutes," she pointed out, lightly poking his chest with her index finger, "if I didn't know any better I'd say you were hinting at something."
