Matt listened attentively, a furrow in his brow. Back home his concerns were about criminals, criminal behavior and the wrongly accused. Defending people who didn't have the means to defend themselves. He got a sense that they were on the same wavelength, despite coming from very different worlds. "Do you still have hope for your home?" He couldn't help it but ask. He'd asked himself the same question over the years and the answer was always the same. It was why he fought as hard as he had.
"There have been a few battles here since I arrived, but most residents are more than equal to the task of protecting this planet." He sipped his drink and shrugged. "But your expertise is still useful here. Just because there hasn't been an outbreak doesn't mean that there won't be one day. Planning and preparing for a contagion is better than having no plan at all."
