Who: Lita and Enid What: Idol chatter Where: Backstage When: A few weeks ago Warning: Nah
Lita walked off the stage from her last performance feeling a natural high. She felt so good about the song she had done and the judges loving it too made her feel even better. She couldn't wipe the smile off of her face even if she tried. She was pretty confident that she was going to go through to next week. "Hey girl!" She said to Enid when she saw her. "I love the song you did this week" She told her as she walked over to her.
"I don't know," Enid frowned as she looked up to see Lita and close the gap between them, hugging her tightly. "I really hope that she was watching. She really lost out by turning her back on all of us." Enid sniffed a little, the doubt of her own song choice lingering. At the same time, she knew exactly what Lita had been addressing in her song, and she really felt for the whole situation.
"Don't listen to the judges. That song is not over done" She insisted as she squeezed her. Enid may be a fellow contestant but she was also a friend so Lita was going to boost her up because that was her job. "For reals" She said as she pulled away from the hug with a nod of her head. "I mean we're all awesome and her new friends? Pfft!" Lita waved a 'forget about it' hand.
"We really are," Enid nodded. "I'm not sure she really even has new friends, anyway," she let out a laugh. "But yeah, I know that Rachelle is just grumpy over Adilyn, but her words really mean a lot to me."
"I'm not sure either" Lita replied, joining in with her own laughs. The pink haired girl was at the point where she didn't even miss JR anymore but man did it feel good to sing about how she felt about the whole thing. "You know the voters are the ones that really matter right?" She told her, putting her hands on her shoulders. "And from what I can tell, the voters love you. So I think you'll be fine"
Enid sighed, "you're right. But it's been said that the votes can be swayed by the things that the judges say. I think that I take what Rachelle says so close to heart because she said that if I don't win, she'd love to work with me. I don't want to disappoint her."
"Well if you do by that, then Jolene is totally going home. Rachelle was harsh with her" She pointed out, hooking arms with her friend so they could go back to the green room as they walked and take a break. "See? You're solid either way so don't stress so much"(edited)
"Yeah, she really was," Enid chuckled softly and sighed. "The harshness can also be an eye-opener. My songs have basically sounded the same each week. I've been playing it safe."
"True that" She replied as she moved to sit down once they were in the green room, "After last week I wasn't sure I was going to stay 'cause they didn't like what I did. Maybe if we both make it through this week we could sit down and help each other pick an unsafe song"
Enid nodded with a grin. "I have some ideas, but I've been afraid to do it. I just really don't want to be stuck with one type of song. I haven't been nearly as angry ever since we made this official with Bex. I just happen to be good at showing it."
"Why are you afraid?" She asked as she grabbed a bottle of water from the table and opened it up, taking a sip. "I mean that's what this competition is about, man! Taking risks and getting out of your comfort zone"
Enid sighed, nodding as she leaned back against a wall. "I just want to be liked and the paranoia that I have from my world has slipped into this. What if I pick the wrong song and I fail completely and no one lies me anymore?" she frowned.
"So what?" Lita replied with a shrug, moving to wrap her arms around her friend. "You have your friends, family, kids, Bex, Carl ... all those people love you nd that'll never change. The people out there?" She asked, pointing to where the audience was. "They don't matter. You'll never see those people again"
Enid took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. "You're right. I really think that all of this is getting to my head. Just in the worst possible way."
"Totes" She replied with a nod of her head in agreement. She gave her friend a squeeze then she pulled away and took another sip of her water. "If you make it next week, just have fun, okay? You do you and forget everyone else. That's what I've been doing and look how far it's gotten me"
She nodded, "I'm going to do something that I want to do, and I will live with whatever they have to say about it."
"That's what I'm talking about!" She exclaimed, holding her hand up for a high five with a smile on her face.
Enid grinned, holding her hand up to receive the high five. "It's hard, but I'm going to do it."
