Michael was a mix of emotions after getting Liz's text message to come pick up Alex. He was amused that they were drinking knowing how giddy she gets. He was worried why Alex was drinking in the first place, there was always a reason behind his benders. And he was kind of jealous that he wasn't invited to drink with them. This was the duty of a good partner, to come pick up your boyfriend when he was too drunk to find his own way home.
The cowboy swaggered into the bar in time to see the soldier stumble to pay his bar tab. Walking up to him, he placed a strong, warm hand on his back to steady him. "Easy there, man," he said with a hint of humor in his voice. "I got this." Michael made sure Alex's wallet was returned to his pocket, then paid the bartender what he was ode. "Come on, soldier, time to go home."
