PERFORMANCE - ASH KOWALSKI
Thank fuck for waterproof mascara, because Mere had easily realized who Ash was singing to her. And, because Mere cried at the drop of a hat, she had teared up a bit and had tried her damnedest to wipe away the evidence, but the red eyes were still kind of obvious when the camera panned to her.
"Right, well, I mentioned before that Ash and I have history, so that tends to make my opinion a little biased. Not only did we date when we were younger, but we've managed to be best friends for years and try to cheer each other on through the good times and the bad. We've also managed to hurt the fuck out of one another a few times, which unfortunately happens in all great friendships." By the noises that the audience was starting to make, they might have been cluing in on who Ash was singing about as well. "So yeah, I tend to I guess 'get' his performances more than the usual judge might."
"Anyway, guess I should get to the performance, right?" She let out a laugh. "Like Mr. Giles said, we're constantly telling the performers to push themselves into new territory, to not rest on what made them good last week. You could do the same thing as last time every week and probably at least coast your way to the top 3, but we're not here to watch people coast. That was a real, raw performance there and I fucking felt it, deep in the soul. So yeah, I say great job, even if I am fucking biased. Doesn't make me wrong."
