Performance: Enid Rhee
Enid walks onto the stage wearing a pair of skinny jeans and a black tank top with black All-Star Converse high tops. A small video package shows Enid talking about her journey so far and the song she would be performing that night, "I never expected to make it out of the world that I once knew as my home. It changed me in ways that no one should ever have to in any world, in any lifetime. Being in this universe is nothing short of a miracle. It's just that... Even when the gems bring you things you just didn't believe possible... There's just some things you can't let go of..."
The lights went down on the stage as Enid stood in the middle, having a mic stand this time. He head hung and her eyes closed as the music started up.
"See a red door and I want it painted black No colors anymore, I want them to turn black I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes I have to turn my head until my darkness goes
I see a line of cars and they are painted black With flowers and my love both never to come back I see people turn their heads and quickly look away Like a newborn baby it just happens every day," she flips her hair and pulls the microphone out of the stand, beginning to walk around the stage.
"I look inside myself and see my heart is black I see my red door and it's heading into black Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black..."
With each 'painted', Enid thrust her fist into the air, "I want to see it painted painted, painted black, oh baby I want to see it painted painted, painted black, oh baby
No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue I could not foresee this thing happening to you If I look hard enough into the setting sun My love will laugh with me before the morning comes," she kneels down on the stage, humming along to the instrumental break, jumping up just before the vocals kick back in moving in front of her boyfriend and girlfriend to finish out the song.
"I want to see it painted, painted black, oh Black as night, black as coal I want to see the sun blotted from the sky Painted, painted, painted black oh baby Painted, painted, painted black," she placed a passionate kiss onto Carl's lips and pulled away slowly, her hand on his cheek. "If this is a dream, I don't ever want to wake up."
