I seriously don't think the novelty of being here will ever wear off. Getting to meet so many people I grew up thinking were just made-up... I'm still as giddy as a kid on Christmas morning.

What's up, Galador?

So I was thinking... I'd like to start taking suggestions from my customers for what events and special nights to have at Ryze. So let me hear 'em. Special type of theme night you want to see? A band or performer you want to see play? I aim to please.

As I last mentioned I was opening a book thrift store. The Writers Block is now open and I am having my first two events for the children and pre-teens out there. The book store is located in New Orleans and now Brooke is close to me where she works.

These workshops are both free and are to build love in writing in children. Without further ado, here is the sign-ups for my two workshops. They will be every Saturday for two weeks so this is a commitment if you sign up. I hope to see some of you there.

[By popular demand I have decided to add a class for those 13-17-year-olds interested in a workshop. Please sign up below. Thank you.]

1.SURPRISE PARTY
Saturday March 21 @ 11:00AM - Saturday April 04 @ 12:00PM
WRITING WORKSHOP FOR STUDENTS AGES 5-8
MAR. 21, 28, & APR. 4 FROM 11AM-12PM

Shhhh! Quiet! Don't move a muscle or you'll ruin the whole surprise! Who is the unsuspecting creature wandering its way down the conspicuously quiet hallway? Will they be shocked and amazed? Or overwhelmed with terror? The surprise party lies in wait, hoping for the ultimate shock and awe from its unwary prey...

Registration for this workshop will close on Monday, March 16th at 11:59 pm. If more than 14 students register, there will be a random lottery to determine placement in the workshop. Registrants and those waitlisted will receive a notification on Tuesday, March 17th.

2. THE JUNGLE GIANT
Saturday March 21 @ 01:00PM - Saturday April 04 @ 02:00PM
WRITING WORKSHOP FOR STUDENTS AGES 9-12
MAR. 21, 28, & APR. 4 FROM 1PM-2PM

Tree frogs, both poisonous and not, tremble in its wake. Is it gentle or malicious? How does it move across the swaths of foliage so quickly? The jungle giant knows no bounds and leaves only elephantine footsteps behind. But the most important question remains, what will it do next?

Registration for this workshop will close on Monday, March 16th at 11:59pm. If more than 14 students register, there will be a random lottery to determine placement in the workshop. Registrants and those waitlisted will receive notification on Tuesday, March 17th.

3. A NIGHT AT THE THEATER
Saturday February 29 @ 01:00PM - Saturday March 14 @ 04:00PM
WRITING WORKSHOP FOR STUDENTS AGES 13-17
FEB. 29, MAR. 7 & 14 FROM 1PM-2PM

Over the balustrade and underneath the trap door, shrieks pierce the crowded amphitheater. Hiding amid a flurry of harried ballerinas, dripping backstage decor, and a slew of artificial foliage is a mysterious cloaked figure. Who can it be? What has this strangely clad individual done? Only you can uncloak this dastardly fiend.

Registration for this workshop will close on Monday, February 24th at 11:59 pm. If more than 14 students register, there will be a random lottery to determine placement in the workshop. Registrants and those waitlisted will receive a notification on Tuesday, February 25th.

I've been hanging out with my kid a lot and it's bittersweet. Sweet cause I get to be in her life but bitter because it's a reminder that I'll never get to be pregnant with her or see her grow up. I get pregnant and that's a final death sentence for me. There's no coming back from that and I'll go into Valkyrie heaven like my mom. The only way I'll ever get to hold my own child is if we go the surrogate route and I'm not even sure I'd want to do that cause it wouldn't be fair to Michael to have to juggle raising our child and his wife over and over again for the rest of our lives. Sometimes being what I am really sucks.

Haven’t fallen off the face of the earth, just busy with classes and what have you. I’m actually happy for once and not letting the dark side get the best of me. I think James has something to do with that. He’s an amazing guy and I’m glad I went on that blind date with him. And I’m loving my classes and being able to use my magic freely. I think things are finally going my way.

I got three things I wanna talk about today.

Ladies and gents - You don't need a man or woman to make your life complete. It's okay to be single and unattached. You say you're lonely? Put yourself out there, meet new people, make friends. Can't be lonely if you're surrounded by people. "But Hayden! I want love" you say? Good things come to those who wait. Whining about it on the network just makes you look pathetic and desperate and that isn't going to get you want. Just keep putting yourself out there and you'll find love eventually.

Oh but a word of advice? "You're so pretty!" isn't a good way to start a friendship or relationship. Women want to be valued for more than their looks. I get that our appearance is the first thing that people notice but we're more than that. We have personality, opinions, thoughts, feelings. What's inside matters more than what's on the outside. Flattery will only get you as far as a four post bed but getting to know a person on a deeper level is so much more satisfying.

And lately, everyone should be grateful that they get to wake up every morning and you're able to leave the place they live more than once a year cause some of us can't. If that ain't enough to give you perspective and put you in a good mood every day than I don't know what is.

Now everyone quit your bitching and get living.
