I went to a local armory today and after talking to one of the Spaceknights about my military experience, and what we went through in the war... he was nice enough to show me how to use a few of this world's blaster rifles. And it was the safest and most 'normal' I've felt in a long time.

This isn't even right. I'm 21, but feel like an old man right now. I just went into one of the Galadorian gyms and.... I don't even know what half of the machines in there were for, much less how to use them.

I'm all for new cultures and learning about them... but I think I'll stick to the earth-themed gyms like the one in Commerceport.

So, I'm sitting here in the on-call room, trying and failing to get some shut-eye, and it hit me how little most of us know about each other, despite the fact that we chat, tag each others' posts, etc.

So I'll start here. Please, everyone and anyone, follow suit. Or I'm gonna feel like a complete lame-ass here.

I'm Dr. Ellis Shepherd, daughter of Derek and Meredith, two of the best surgeons in my world. I'm the youngest (and prettiest, don't hate) of three children, and spent roughly 85% of my life being the proverbial black sheep of the family. If there was trouble? Chances were good I was involved.

Recently, I chose plastics as my specialty, and I'm lucky enough to be learning from the great Mark Sloan. I'm the adopted mother of my beautiful little princess, Erin Shepherd, and we're about to move in with my girlfriend, Dr. Arizona Robbins.

My hobbies include singing, playing my guitar, and obsessing over 80s and 90s rock and metal. And yes, those are oldies to me. Shh. My favorite bands include Black Sabbath, Dio, Lamb of God, and Danzig.
