Oh. Okay. So. Lot to unpack here, but thought I might come say hi, and see if we can have a little chat about this. I'm the Doctor, by the way, nice to meet you. Now... Did a little research into your world. Not going to lie, bit depressing. I like things a bit lighter, me, but we've all got our own tastes.
People have told you that you you hadn't done these things and that true. Time's a funny thing, it's not as strictly bound as a lot of people would have you think. Well, a few things are but those are usually ones with far reaching consequences that would shape an entire planet. Civil wars like this are more... Decorative in terms of history. Sort of. Some aren't. I'm not explaining this well, am I?
My point is that you can't think things are set in stone. Unless they actually are. I'm good at the whole time displacement thing, so I know what's I'm talking about. Even if I'm a bit rubbish at explaining it..what you're being told is fact may not have always been fact, and may not always be fact. That doesn't mean you should shrug this off. Find out what caused those reactions, make sure you know the damage.
Count it, if you have to. Everyone lost. Burn that number in your mind. Remember so that when the time comes? You can make sure it never happens again. You can take all that rawness, all that pain and anger, and remember what could be and instead use it to do it better. There's always another option, even if it takes centuries to realise it.
[That last bit is personal experience spilling through.]
