Who: Amber and Penny
Where: Their Apartment - Monstropolis
When: May 10th
What: Moving in
Rating: PG
Status: Closed; Complete

"Well... welcome to your new home," Penny said as she entered her two bedroom apartment in Monstropolis, gesturing for Amber to come inside. "I haven't had much of a chance to decorate. I've been too busy trying to get the business up and running, but it's functional. There are beds, blood and food in the fridge, some weird alternate reality TV. Everything you could possibly need to get settled."

Penny had the idea that since they were an an alien planet without their significant others, then perhaps she and Amber could be roommates. She seemed like a nice girl. A little skittish, maybe, but nothing a little confidence couldn't help with - who knows, maybe being in Penny's company would help with that.

"Ma'am?" Amber said, nibbling her bottom lip nervously. "Are you s-s-sure this is all ok?" She asked, probably the meekest, most frail little vampire in history. "I really appreciate this... I just don't wanna be a b-b-bother..."

Penny tsked. "You're not a bother. In fact, you'd be doing *me* a favor." She gave Amber a side-hug. "God knows this place can get lonely when you don't have someone to spend time with."

"If you n-n-need any help with starting your b-b-business, I'd love to do something." Amber said with a bashful grin, a little intimidated by the other woman's beauty... truthfully, she was the only woman other than Charlotte who's looks managed to make Amber a stuttery mess. "It would help me feel like I'm at least contributing."

"Sure, you can help me with that. Right now I'm just receiving stock, so you can help me unpack and arrange the store," Penny suggested. She was sure that if Amber was capable of blushing she *would* for the kind of things she'd unpack. "But let's give you some time to get settled first, hmm?"

"You really have n-no idea how grateful I am." She admitted, trusting Penny enough to confide in her. "For all the power I have... I'm still a terrified little girl who can't even fathom the idea of being alone. As it is... not having Charlotte here is killing me. Laying awake all night alone in bed... it's like all my old fears and nightmares come flooding back."

Penny led Amber over to the sofa so they could sit and talk comfortably. "I hope that by being here you can sleep a little easier, knowing that you're not alone."

"Please don't think I'm creepy or.... kick me out or anything if you catch my staring at you? I try not to, but when I find someone super attractive, I tend to zone out sometimes and it looks like I'm staring." Dear lord, this girl was too precious to be a goddamn creature of the night.

Penny gave Amber a flattered fangy smile. "I doubt that there's anything you could possibly do that I would take offence to." She made a mental note to wear a robe whenever she left the bedroom. Grace had the habit of sleeping naked and she'd picked it up as well. Amber would probably have an aneurysm then. "Have you done much in the way of exploring since you got here?"

Amber couldn't help but smirk a little there... she realized how she must be coming off to Penny, but in spite of her shy, bashful attitude, she had Charlotte had done things that would likely surprise the HELL out of the woman. "Honestly? Not really. I found a library though. And a couple of bookstores..." In other words, her go-to places of feeling safe.

Penny nodded understandingly. "Well, once we've hit our rhythm here I'll have to take you out to a few places and introduce you to some people." Amber might like Death & Taxes. The underground section was reminiscent of one of their clubs back home - Eden.

".....I'm in." Amber said, a tiny bit of confidence to her voice. She felt, somehow, the same kind of safeness around Penny that she did with Charlotte. Like nothing could possibly hurt her as long as the other woman was with her. "Just... you know... stick by me?"

"I won't let you out of my sight," Penny promised. Truthfully, she had no reason to abandon the girl - she'd offered her a place to live, after all. "And if you find that you've... had your fill at any point, promise to let me know?"

"I'll be fine." She assured Penny, giving a little smile. "I know I can take care of myself. I just get... antsy when I'm alone. But as long as someone I trust is with me, it'll be totally fine."

Penny was starting to understand the younger woman's mindset now. She almost joked that she was tempted to keep Amber to herself, but didn't want to give her the wrong impression. "Then you'll always be fine," she said instead.

Amber gave a contented sigh, and almost visibly loosened up. In some ways, after having so much damage done to her psyche over the years by her father, she had a psychological NEED to feel as though she belonged to someone. And in this moment, without even realizing it, she was more or less allowing Penny to be that person. Feeling herself relax for the first time since arriving here, she tentatively cuddled up against Penny, just craving any kind of comforting touch.

Penny wrapped an arm around Amber's shoulders and gave her a gentle squeeze. She was typically the kind of person who craved attention and affection (especially from Grace - who she felt always indulged her needs). Still. She could give affection as well as she got it. She pressed her cheek to Amber's forehead and breathed in her scent, memorizing it. She wanted to be able to find Amber and protect her whenever she could.
