There was so much baggage back in New Mexico. Of course not all of it could be left behind. It was hard to escape the trauma and pain of both of the lives. Alex wasn't stupid to think that he was the only one with emotional baggage in this relationship. Only in Galador it was easier not to think about it all. There wasn't the constant reminder that was his father. He could look a Michael and see himself being happy. It was hard to do that back home but he tried. He always tried, maybe not successfully.
He laughed," Yeah I know." He didn't think either of them wanted to run out tonight to get everything they would need for the door.
Alex watched as Michael gave the puppy some chicken. He shook his head with a smile on his face but didn't say anything. He reached over to the ibuprofen that was kept on the table. It never stayed in the bathroom like it was supposed. Took two and swallowed it down with the beer. He started eating the chicken that he had put on his plate.
