It had been a bit of a long day. Alex was glad to be headed home. Part of him wanted to just head back home but he made a detour to pick up dinner. It was some fried chicken and potato wedges. Not exactly the most healthy looking dinner but it sure smelled great. It only delayed him about thirty minutes then he was back on his way.
"I got dinner," he said as he started to walk into the house. He didn't have a chance to walk all the way in when the small puppy had run up to him. "Oh hi," he moved down to one knee on the ground. The dog seemed more in the bag of fried chicken than the veteran. "You got us a dog?" He looked up at Michael as he kept the puppy's nose out of the bag.
That was a serious step. One he was happy to take with his boyfriend.
