Couldn't they have just... waited to take us from home a little further down the line in the first place? All of this going back and forth seems rather unnecessary.

I don't know the full details, but when Rosa was using, he helped her get clean. There was a point in which we thought that Rosa had been having an affair. It looks more like it was just my dad helping her because he had suffered from addiction problems in the past, as well.

Breaking it down, before you and I were conceived, my dad was with your mom and yeah... we know how it works.
