A guy could get used to this place. It's definitely more peaceful than back home, even with things like the cupids showing up.

What are your favorite places to go here, both for enjoyment and to get things done?

I like to go to the woods. Nothing better in the world. How about you?

Sounds like a good thing.

I'm more of a townie kind of person. I like libraries, and working in labs.

I get out of the lab or the classroom. So in my free time I'm outdoors. I spend way too much time inside.

Currently, I'm reading Once and Future King by T.H. White. Have you read it?

You're very lucky to have had a father like that. My parents and I didn't have the best of relationships, but then it wasn't entirely their fault.

I was very lucky while I had him.

I'm sorry to hear things were not so good.

Hopefully its gotten better as time went on.

Thanks for the well-wishes but I'm a mutant. They were terrified of me.

My name is Jean.

not actually written--holy heck, no way. There is no way.

Ahhh. I know a little of that. I'm a wizard.

They call me Harry Dresden. Nice to meet you, Jean.

It's nice to meet you too, Harry. It's even nicer to have a conversation with an adult, I'm around kids so much. You are my first wizard. No wonder you like 'Once and Future King.'

Do you teach here?

Well, I'm not really fond of the wizard in that one.

But I've always been a fan of people who do the right thing. Or try.

Yes, I teach at the mutant school. I help Charles Xavier run it. I guess I'm his second. I resemble that remark. I am a role model for so many of our young girls. I don't mean that in a braggart way, it's just the was it is with the younger ones. I try to do the right thing. In fact my only rule in class is to always do the right thing.

It can be hard dealing with mutant students who are just learning to use their powers.

Ah. That is pretty amazing.

I can imagine. I taught younger wizards for awhile. I know how funny, serious, and hazardous, it can be.

I'll just bet you can. It's refreshing to talk to someone who has done similar things.

How long have you been here?

A little over a month, maybe six weeks. Been kind of a wild ride. First cupids, then discovering an old friend, and then my daughter showed up.

I'm glad for you. It's easier here if you have people you know. How great to have your daughter here.

Do you have anyone here?

I have friends here but no family. What I wouldn't give to see my parents now and let them know there is no reason to be afraid. Even if I had that chance I think too much has happened.

That's whats nice about this place is that everyone mutant, alien, wizard - it doesn't matter we are all welcome.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Maybe this place will bring them and you will get a chance for it to go better.

That's a nice thing. So far, things seem... very nice.

It is a nice place. I'm as happy as I could be here. And the Gem keeps bringing over the nicest people.

Everyone has dark sides.

And I don't trust the stones. They tend to get people into trouble.

That is so true. Sofia made me a necklace to keep the phoenix in check. Some darker than others. I don't need a Gem helping me out, I get enough trouble on my own. Granted I don't cause much trouble.

True.

I tend to be around where trouble happens a lot. Part and parcel of being a wizard, I guess.

I can't even imagine being a wizard, that must be so cool. The most trouble we had around here is the monsters that were attacking us at Halloween. I think they were more afraid of me than I was with them. I just used my telepathy on them. They didn't stick around long.

A lot of people felt the cherubs were trouble. Luckily I didn't end up singing, thank goodness. But I did get a bottle of wine I haven't opened yet, and a box of chocolates I devoured. That's the type of trouble we get in around here.

Maybe you won't get in so much trouble here.

Do you like wine?

Its got good and bad things to it, as with everything.

Trouble follows me.

Sometimes. I'm more of a beer guy, myself. Old lagers and ales.

Hopefully, you'll have plenty of good times to pop that drink in.

Maybe you just find the trouble, instead of it following you. I'd imagine magic is predisposed to bringing on trouble. I have no basis for that theory.

I'm not really into beers, though I do like some Kraft beers.

I'm sure I'll have some reason to celebrate and will use the wine to do so.

No idea, really, though part of it is that I don't wait when people are in trouble. I tend to act.

There you go.

This place seems like the kind of place that can bring that sort of joy.

I'm reactive instead of proactive, but I've worked hard on being proactive. Handling my emotions is key for me. Kinda goes with the territory.

If any place is a place can bring joy, it's this one. In the back of my mind, I think this is too good to be true.

I used to be reactive. But I cannot anymore. So many people have been lost due to that.

That's why I will be trying to learn more about what is going on here.

I trust no one around one of the infinity stones.
