She's a Good Influence Who: Emma and Killian Where: Killian's room When: Wednesday, July 8th (Following these network posts) What: Socializing! Rating: I imagine low Note: Amber, you're certainly welcome to tag to this post with Alex heading into Java the Hutt. It's up to you!
After swapping a few messages with Alex on the network Emma made her way over to Killian's apartment in an effort to get him to tag along. She figured he could stand to get out more and... she'd begrudgingly admit that she missed him. Dressed in blue jeans, with a gray turtleneck jumper and a brown leather jacket, she made her way over to his apartment door and knocked. "Killian, are you in there?" She checked her watch. "Are you even awake?"
"Of course I'm awake, Swan..." Hook said with an amused little half-smirk, opening the door fully dressed. "Early to bed, early to rise... alright, I can't even pretend there. But yes, I've been up for a while. What can I do for you, love?"
"You really can't blame me for thinking otherwise," Emma replied dryly, her eyes flicking over him briefly. He looked good. Focus, she thought. "I've come here to wrangle you into meeting one of my running buddies for coffee."
"Really now. And what exactly convinced you that introducing me to this friend was a good idea?" He asked with a blatant chuckle, as she still tended to act... almost a bit embarrassed of their relationship at times.
"A momentary lapse of judgement." Emma couldn't keep a straight face for long and rolled her eyes and smiled. "Honestly, you could stand to get out more. And Alex, well... she's a hard person to get to know, so I'm doing you both a solid here. You're both meeting new people."
"You know I can't turn you down when you smile like that, Swan." He sighed, knowing defeat when it stared him in the face. He couldn't deny her anything, and he damn well knew it. "Is this.... something we've got to do now? Or do we have time for a bit of... private time?" He asked, not even being subtle about it with the way he wagged his eyebrows so salaciously at her.
She opened her mouth to say something, then quickly snapped it shut. She'd been about to say that they had a good forty five minutes before they had to go anywhere (she figured that she'd have to wake him up, honestly, hence asking to meet Alex later), but what was the fun in giving him what he wanted straight away? "Really, Killian? Is your mind always in the gutter?"
"I understand the surprise, love. We pirates are typically known for being such innocent, classy chaps." He said dryly, trying not to laugh. "Besides... never heard you complain before..." He raised an eyebrow in challenge, as though daring her to disagree.
She moved her mouth to one side and smiled. "Okay, you've got me there." She conceded, taking a hold of his hand and tugging him into the apartment. "We've got some time. But. You have to tell me what your devilishly charming self has been up to lately. It feels like we haven't seen each other in a while." Funny, that.
"Keeping to myself, mostly..." He admitted, leading her in with a smirk. "Checking out the less... savory locales just outside of town. Those are always the places where you'll learn more."
She cocked her head to one side. "Now why doesn't that surprise me." Still, she followed him into the apartment, making sure to shut the door behind her. She still felt awkward around him, a little unsure of herself, but there were some moments that were... alright. Nice, even. Almost as if she was finally settled in body and mind. "You haven't been doing anything... pirate-y, have you?"
"Nothing criminal, love... if that's what you mean." He assured her, pausing to kiss her briefly, eyes sweetly fluttering closed mid-kiss. Despite his bluster, Killian truly loved this woman. "I've been keeping tabs on a few of the more... suspicious refugees. They tend to gravitate to that area, where there are less eyes on them. I'm just making sure they don't cause any trouble."
She smiled after that kiss and led him over to the sofa to sit down. "Wow. Being around me has really rubbed off on you, huh?" By that she meant her social conscience, her want to do good for others - not so much her felonious past.
"These are good people here." He told her, adorably embarrassed of being thought of as good. "They're taking care of us and the last thing any of us needs is for a few bloody morons to ruin it for the rest of us."
She nodded, impressed. It was nice to see him thinking of others. Maybe being around her had changed him in some ways. She sat down, crossing one leg over the other and turning to one side to face him. "It's not really all that different from Storybrooke here, is it? We even managed to keep our Evil Queen."
"Ah, yes. We're SO very lucky to have Regina here." He said dryly, trying not to roll his eyes. Oh, some of the others had gotten close enough to Regina to actually consider her a friend... but she and Killian still did NOT like one another.
In her timeline, Emma and Regina had left things in a good place, so she was quietly hopeful about her relationship with the woman now. She reached over to brush her fingers over Killian's hair. "I know that you two don't get along, but me, you, Regina, Mulan and Aurora, we're all a little piece of home until we can go back there." She paused and deflated a little. "Does that make sense?"
"It does indeed." He told her, his tone softening. Emma didn't often lower her defenses enough to show real vulnerability like this, and not even he was a big enough dick to tease her when she did. "I'll do m'best, love. So tell me about this new friend you want me to meet." He said, sweetly enough giving her an opening to talk about something else. He knew her well enough to know that she'd not want to dwell on what she'd been talking about. "Most importantly, am I expected to not be myself around her? Because that could be tough."
She cocked her head to one side briefly and gave him a weak smile. "Honestly, I don't know all that much about her. She's mentioned not drinking a few times, so," she continued playing with his hair, although she had a faraway look in her eyes, "I'm gonna guess that alcohol or substance abuse factors into her past." She had pretty good detective skills, it seems. "And I never said that you couldn't be yourself." A beat. "Although being less of a smart ass could only help."
"You wound me with your words, Swan..." He said with that somehow charmingly sleazy tone he was so known for. "Does that mean I shouldn't drink? Because would make me rather sad."
"She's a big girl," Emma replied. "I'm sure that she'll manage." She sighed, reminding herself not to get too comfortable here. "Any new friends on your end?"
"No time, love." Killian replied, reaching out to place his palm on her cheek as they spoke. "Been thinking about trying to get in with a couple of the folks I've been tracking though. What's the old saying? "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer'?"
"Hmm. Subterfuge. Why do I get the feeling that you'd be good at that?" She teased, quirking an eyebrow at him as she poked him in the stomach. Still, she had to admit that it was a good idea. God knew that she wouldn't be able to fit the bill, given her high standing among security.
"Possibly because you've met me?" He replied with a cheeky grin, all while being not a bit subtle about undressing her with his eyes even as they spoke. "Two of them in particular, which should be a little easier now that they seem to have struck up a friendship of sorts..."
Emma narrowed her eyes at that. Damn him for making her curious! "And who may they be, exactly?"
"A chap named Boba Fett... bounty hunter type. Wears armor like he's a knight of some sort." Heh. Yeah, I guess that IS what Hook would think upon seeing that armor, huh? "Lass is named Nebula. Blue skin, no hair... looks like she's got metal parts of her body. This place really does bring in things I never thought I'd see..."
Emma nodded silently in agreement there. "They both came up on the new arrivals list not long ago." They both seemed like loners... and face it, Emma had a soft spot for loners, so she'd left them well enough alone. "Do you really think that they might be an issue?"
"Well... the bit of research I did turned up a couple of things, love." He sighed, leaning back against the wall. "Apparently, those who know Mr. Fett from whatever... 'fiction' he is from know him as a hired thug who'll do practically anything for the right money. My kind of chap, if we're being honest. Nebula... honestly I know nothing about, other than that the raccoon says this reality's version of her is certifiable."
"Lovely," Emma replied dryly, running a hand through her hair. "Well... I guess keep an eye on them? And if anything seems... untoward, you just let me know."
"Oh, without hesitation." He said, that mischievous grin forming again. "I do enjoy watching you in action, after all..."
She rolled her eyes at him. "And with that in mind." She stood up and smoothed down her clothes before looking over at him, quirking an eyebrow. "Coffee?"
"Yes... as usual, Swan, you lead, and I shall follow dutifully." He said with a playful bow to her. Oh, he was completely her bitch and they both knew it.
