Communicating in person definitely had a different quality to it than over the networks. It was, in a lot of ways, quite a bit more work - Maya sometimes wondered what it was like to be able to just let your attention drift during a conversation - and there was a definite sense of being able to finally relax when she was done with it, but she liked it anyway. "There's an achievement," she teased. "I hope you're not losing your touch." Though she did have him at a disadvantage, having never met her before. She wasn't sure whether he had ways of detecting people's presences other than the sound of their voice, nor how reliable vocal differences even were, but the version of him that she was familiar with always seemed to know it was her, somehow. "I'd love an espresso macchiato."
