"And you're older," Elizabeth blurted out before realizing how that sounded. "I didn't mean that, well, you know what I mean. You're clearly not 18..." she trailed off.
"I don't understand. Last time I saw you was when we crossed paths on our way to class at Sweet Valley University. We were both 18 and college freshmen. You were part of rush week..." Liz trailed off once more, super confused. "Did we both end up here together and you aged by accident? Or, wait a minute..."
"If there's a future you, is there also a future me out there? Am I not really Elizabeth Wakefield, just someone in her past body?" Elizabeth shuddered at the thought.
Her fear changed to a smile when she was introduced to Jake. He was adorable and she was comforted to know that her future self was an aunt. She wondered if her and Todd's future children were here, too. Well, the children she wanted to have with him after marriage.
Then another realization washed over her. Jake looked awfully familiar. Of course, he had a lot of the Wakefields' genetics, but those eyes... they were unmistakable.
"Jessica, why does your son have Todd's eyes?" Elizabeth asked, a slight harshness to her voice. A long time ago, back in high school there had been a time where both twins liked Todd, but that ended when he chose and fell in love with Elizabeth. After that, Jessica and Todd were merely friends, if you could call them that. So why now did Jessica have a son that looked like the love of Liz's life?!
