Warnings: I'm hoping none.
Mel still wasn't sure what to think of all this weirdness. All she definitely knew is this wasn't Chicago or anyplace familiar. And what was with the talking dog? Another alien of some kind? She wasn't thinking entirely clearly at the moment because she was still weak. She just wanted to find a place to sit down and get her mind together, think for a minute.
It had been a risky move, but she hadn't been thinking very clear even then. Vic had been shot and she'd acted on instinct, not wanting him to die on her. He might not be her boyfriend now, but he was still a friend. Of course, he'd freaked out seeing her glowing skin and getting healed like that. She hoped they'd gotten him to stay quiet now that he knew Cole wasn't nuts and there really *were* aliens in Chicago, but it was hard to be sure. Cole had given her enough of an energy boost to keep her from passing out or anything, but she was still exhausted.
She noticed the restaurant and decided it was as good a place as any to rest for a minute. She probably wouldn't be buying anything. she didn't have much on her at the moment. She still kept thinking it was some kind of weird dream as she pushed open the door and went in to find a seat.
It was only then that she realized she was still glowing from a few minutes ago. That got her frightened. She looked around, not sure what was about to happen. Would everyone freak and be afraid of her? Or was she going to have to adjust to a place where it might not be all that unusual, given what the dog had said?
