Sookie was at a loss as to how to console him. What was worse is she had similar feelings. She felt helpless. She let out a frustrated sigh.
"To be honest, sometimes I have similar feelings. I'm not even a guardian to any children. But I do know those kids are better for knowing you. Maybe they could find someone else, but there is only one you. You have a special bond with these kids, or are on the way to making one. Don't look at things that way. They need you and no one can take care of them the way you can." Sookie was having trouble making the point she wanted to. She only hoped he understood.
