To say Skye was having a bad day might have just been the understatement of the century. She was having the worst day in recorded history, at least in her mind. She was in a strange place with no idea how to get back home or if that was even a possibility. On the bright side she had discovered that this was where one of her closest friends had ended up. She'd been starting to really worry that she might never see Steph again so knowing she was here had come as a relief but that relief had been short lived because not only did she not know how to get home, she couldn't even get a message back there. She knew that though because if there had have been a way then Steph would have contacted her the minute she'd been able to. That didn't stop her from worrying about what everyone back home would be thinking when they found her gone.
Skye had done what she could to occupy herself while she waited for Steph to show up at her door. She'd investigated the apartment she'd been assigned to and while it was a nice apartment it wasn't home, it wasn't filled with her things apart from those she'd happened to have on her at the time. She already missed her place, small and cramped though it might be it was hers and it was familiar, this place was alien and devoid of almost all things that could bring her comfort. Well apart from the shirt she was wearing which she'd changed into just as soon as she'd realized she had a full change of clothes in her backpack thank heavens for small mercies because her tactical gear wasn't exactly comfortable to sit around in. The shirt was tucked into her jeans and the sleeves were rolled back so it didn't look quite so ridiculous on her but it was obvious that it didn't belong to her, it was a piece of home and right now she needed it.
Try as she might she hadn't been able to keep the creeping panic from growing in the pit of her stomach, she was doing her best to remain calm but she wasn't doing a very good job at that point. She'd begun to pace, much like a caged animal, as she waited for a knock on the door. The minute she heard knuckles rap against the door she moved to open it, barely given the woman on the other side any time to react before she was flinging her arms around her and hugging her tight. "Thank god you're here, Steph. I thought I'd lost you." Skye didn't even try and hide the hint of desperation and fear in her voice, the woman she currently had her arms wrapped around was one of maybe two people that she never tried to hide her emotions from because it would have been pointless, they just knew each other too well.
