"By all means, please kill them," she said, holstering her handgun in favor of shouldering the rifle and setting her sights on two more undead who had just begun their trek through a grove of trees, "But it's still not going to get you anywhere," Kate added, finger ready on the trigger. But she didn't pull immediately, giving her body time to adjust, to focus so that the movement came naturally, and then she pulled, missing on her first try with the kickback from the gun but landing neatly into her target with the two bullets that followed.
"Hate to break it to you, but I'm happily engaged," Kate said, pushing back against the quiet voice that whispered in her ear that Castle was likely dead in a car crash. She wasn't going to believe that until there was enough evidence to convince her so and, really, she couldn't imagine she'd ever get such an answer in middle of a galaxy far, far away.
