Lisa and Jamie
Jamie was not the sort of man who was at all fazed over going stag to an event, regardless as to what type of event it is. He was used to it, and though fashion wasn't his bag, it was still a good opportunity to network, so he hadn't hesitated. In fact, he might have hesitated to bring Michael as his date. Though Jamie had decided quite some time ago now not to live in the closet anymore, Michael was the first man he'd been in a relationship since then, and this--had Michael wanted to attend--would have been Jamie's first society event with a male date. Of course, in wartime, there were more important things to worry about than who came with whom to what event. Still, Jamie was a little relieved he and Michael hadn't had to address it.
And all of that was in Jamie's thoughts before he even got to the part where he accepted that getting more serious with Michael might make Jamie a target at a time when those who might be doing said targeting were more dangerous than ever. Not that it was an issue.
"Your amazing skills with magic that are rivaled only by your astounding modesty, you mean? You do look lovely, though," Jamie said, greeting his sister with a smile as he let her balance herself on his arm. Jamie himself had gone with a stylish and tailored to fit set of formal robes. Classic, but stylish enough for just such an event, Jamie figured. Far more appropriate than his arguably more fashion-forward muggle clothing, anyway.
"I'm fine. And no, it does not mean trouble in paradise," Jamie said, rolling his eyes a bit. He knew his sister thought he was a romantic, and he disagreed, mostly. Except that there were countless reasons not to get serious with someone like Michael and yet here Jamie was fighting back a smile at the very thought of the man. Jamie bit back an inappropriate joke about agreeing that he despised things that required Michael to get dressed as well, and instead just said, "I think he's working late, anyway. I'm sure I'll see him later. Where's Draco?"
