YAYYY hi BB!! I'm Codie, one of the mods. So glad you joined us and I SERIOUSLY can't wait to plot with you! I love Em's concept and I think she's going to be such a fun addition to the cast. I have three characters to plot with:
Alexis Harlow/Prince - this journal: Prince is a wicked, rotten little party animal with a short fuse and a serious superiority complex. He looks down his nose at most of the other carnival workers, carrying himself like he really is royalty. A New Orleans native, Prince is a practicing rootworker and has an innate understanding of the magical and practical uses for herbs, minerals, and curios. He does the Prince of Pain act for the carnival, a shock torture show that involves such classics as the human blockhead, the bed of nails, sword swallowing and fire eating. He'll approach just about anyone and talk to them, and he makes it a point to know EVERYONE around the Freak Show. He also owns a black pygmy goat named Goetia, who has a reputation for breaking into people's trailers and drinking all of their liquor.
Prince is quite fond of cats, so I imagine he'd welcome Em around. Though the goat may scare her! Once Em figures out how to turn human again, he'd probably be happy to help her try to figure her abilities out. He's very fond of trying to mentor people. Something about positions of power...
James Hawkins/Rodeo - wantedman: A rough-and-tumble cowboy with a secret sweet disposition, Rodeo grew up in a cramped trailer in Tennessee with his little sister and alcoholic mother, learning from a young age to support his family in less-than-legal ways. Formerly a mechanic and a man of crime, Rodeo has been on the run from the law since committing two murders to avenge the near-fatal stabbing of his best friend several years ago. He hides out amongst the carnival workers, but the threat of being caught for his crimes is never far off. He's the head mechanic for the carnival and on open nights he can be seen darting around the lot on a Gator with his toolbox on the back, doing on-the-spot repairs and keeping the show running smoothly. He's happy to be the Freak Show's handyman and will gladly come around to help with fixes or anything that requires brute strength and/or tools during his off hours.
Rodeo avoids cats, associating them with his sister's bitch kitten from when they were younger. However, in her human form I imagine he'd be quite friendly towards her. He'd probably take on a protective sort of role and want to look out for her or help her if he can. Big Brother Rodeo?
Rosarie Lavolier/Lucky - badlucksoul: Lucky was born on the bayous of Louisiana, raised and homeschooled by his wildhearted mother and mystic grandmother. Since his earliest days, Lucky has seen and heard spirits all around him. As a teen he moved to New Orleans to live with his grandmother's friend in order to experience the city life, and he made a living for a while as a street musician playing the blues-- until it became apparent that he involuntarily channels these spirit voices while playing music, and his lyrics were often eerily predictive. Lucky decided to try his hand at bartending instead, where he remained until being attacked by a witch hunter after closing. Lucky joined the carnival shortly after. He runs a gambling tent where he goads patrons into playing simple card and dice games with the promise of winning money. Many of these games are surreal and dizzying, with Lucky building them up in a whirlwind of raised stakes until he decides which way to tip the scales.
Lucky is gentle and kind, and definitely a cat lover. He'll happily foster Em as a cat whenever he sees her out in the rain. He'd probably give her cream in a saucer and tell her she's a pretty kitty. As a girl, he'd be just as friendly and welcoming to her!
