Ethan smirked when he heard her question. He tilted his head back a touch and smiled, raising his eyebrows. "The start of that book... It's rather dull isn't it?" he asked. "You... erm... Claire was it? Read the first paragraph for us" he said.
The student cleared her throat and started to read nervously. It was all about how poetry was structured, about what made a good poem according to study. It refferenced the graphs and what was to come in later pages before actually getting to the poetry and before she could finish reading, Ethan raised a hand to stop her. "That's fine, thank you..."
She stopped and closed the book.
"So... how many of you here think that's all there is to poetry?" he asked. "Or any writing for that matter? Any art form? Is it really that simple? Getting things in the right order and structure?" he asked, sitting on his desk, crossing his arms. "I'd like to know what you all think..." he paused and waited. "Don't be shy, come on, speak up" he smiled.
