Aphrodite hated this. She hated the discomfort. She hated not knowing. She hated how...How completely wrong everything felt. She had never felt this before and given how in charge Aphrodite liked to be most of the time it really rather unsettled her. Perhaps it was the reason she was not as calm and collected as usual. Surely that had to be completely understandable given everyone, god or not, would feel like this when something kept ticking there at the back of their minds. So she refused to be blamed for snapping or for being rather untrustworthy at the moment.
He arrived behind her barely seconds after and with that, she gave him a rather unamused look. She truly could not believe she found herself proving her identity to him. But she found it within her to finally push aside that annoyance and dislike to face him properly and not just over her shoulder. Her frown was turned into a flirtatious smirk. This. This is what she is used to. She can continue to play this. She gave him a rather suggestive look as she stepped back to the entrance and disappeared within. Seconds later, with a playful grin on her face, she peeked her head out from behind the wall.
“Dare you be so brave as to enter, sir?” she teased. “Who knows what awaits you within.”
The longer she focused on what she knew, such as seduction and flirtation, the more confident she felt again. She felt stronger and more secure in her skin despite the strangeness around her. But that flirtatious smile fell again as she turned to step further into her temple. It was hers. It looked like hers. But she shook her head.
Something was different. And she hated the thought that her temple and been tampered with somehow. How dare someone do that?
