Dan was speaking true when he said he wasn't a people reader, which is why he almost snorted his coffee through his nose at Sterling's reaction to the mention of Yasmine; he'd heard about their encounter the other day--who hadn't? It was the buzz of the precinct. Everyone had expected and anticipated the need to console and comfort Yasmine and there she was, smiling at him in the doorway. So people said. Dan thought he'd have to see it for himself though this was coming close. Well, how do you like that? He was human after all.
"Yeah, well," replied Dan with a grunt to clear his throat, "like I said, unofficial. I don't think they even talked about, you know, what he confessed to; she didn't even know about it until she was briefed."
Dan shrugged. "Not a bad idea," he said evenly at Sterling's suggestion, something sounding suspiciously like amusement in his voice which he quelled quickly. "I don't put much into the whole grief counselor thing, but she seems good at her job. She certainly had the references to back her up!" He couldn't stop himself, the words were out of his mouth before he was aware he'd been formulating them. "How did you find her, the other day when the two of you spoke?"
