I think this is the most embarrassed I've been at being from Texas since George Bush left office.
Think Progress: DeLay defends Gov. Perry, explains how Texas could secede from the Union.

It's almost worth it for the LOLz of watching Chuck Norris try to become it's president. :-p

Funny, the day before that happened, I was talking to a friend about a thought experiment: What if the red and blue states were actually more contiguous, and more homogenously red and blue, and we divided the country into two separate republics (e.g. the Conservative States of America and the Progressive States of America, or some such)? What would happen then? Could we focus more on solving real problems and less on internal bickering? Could we be happier? Could those two republics stay at peace with one another?
Anyway, the next day, all this talk of Texas secession came up. And Alaska. And people saying they should take the rest of the South with them, etc. Odd coincidence.
Then today
I saw this too.
Kind of interesting.
