Think liberally, give generously There are 52 days until the election of our lifetimes.
Barack Obama has raised more money from more small donors than any candidate in history. We all know that he has refused to take PAC and lobbyist money, and that he has declined public financing.
John McCain's campaign, with its staff made up of some of Washington's most powerful lobbyists, not only accepts such donations but also took public financing -- theoretically limiting its fundraising ability.
But the Republican Party, using a campaign finance loophole conveniently left in place by "maverick" John McCain, is out-fundraising the Democratic Party and even Barack, and using that money -- as well as the "donations" of the anti-Democratic 527 groups -- to fight the Obama movement of change.
There are more Democrats than there are Republicans. There are more people making middle income than there are rich people. There are more people wondering how to fill their gas tanks, pay their mortgages or rent, and keep their health insurance than there are people wondering whether to spend the upcoming holidays at their condo in Aspen or their ranch in Arizona.
Use the power of our numbers. Even if it's only ten dollars, support Barack Obama's historic campaign. We can make "Yes, we can!" become "Yes, we did!"
