Tired as she was, Roxanne wasn't so sure she wanted Scorpius to want to be in their lives just because he felt obligated to. She wanted him to want to watch their daughter grow.
"What happened is we slept together because we wanted to, and when I told you I was pregnant, you asked me to get rid of it, so I told you to get out and you never came back. That's what happened between us." She readjusted the baby in her arms, fighting of the urge to look at her so that she didn't seem weak and maternal, and stood her ground. She needed help, that much was obvious from the dark circles around her eyes and the frazzled state of her hair, but it wouldn't come from someone who thought they could do better than she could. She would find a way, and they would get along just fine without him if it came down to it. Not that she didn't want his help, because she did, she was just sentimental enough to want it to be for the right reasons.
