Her anger was a disappointment but it certainly wasn't unexpected, and when she stood and pushed him Isaac let her, taking a step back from the force but keeping his own temper under control. If he had to keep her attention and fury on himself then he would, it would be safer than letting her run amok outside, and Isaac knew that if he really had to he could fight her and knock her unconscious just as he did with Boyd and Erica. He wasn't particularly stronger than the rest of his kind but his early ability to gain control gave him an advantage due to a clear mind, and he knew that Malia would be working on primal instinct more than strategy.
"You don't need anything." His voice was still even but it became more firm and a little louder to get through to her, still not at the point where he was willing to give up on her. "But do you want friends? Do you want to be alone, Malia? Find it, that fear of not wanting to die alone, it keeps you human, let it ground you, you know what to do, you just don't want to! You're not trying hard enough!" His own eyes glowed a bright yellow gold, a sign of comparison to remind her that they were the same person while also reminding her that taking him down wasn't going to be easy if she tried.
"Malia, do you want to hurt me? Really?" Despite the tender words his voice was still solid. "Do you want to push away and hurt the only friend you have right now? Is that what you want?"
