Since arriving in camp, Caitlin had not been short on work. Between trying to come up with ways to organize the lab, testing for immunity, working on a vaccination and now compiling a database of monsters, the med team was fairly swamped. One thing she had not been asked for since all of this started was a routine check up. Pepper had a point, breathing in ash could not be good for you, but so far she had been the only person who come in for a check up after the whole ordeal over the past few days. It was simple enough work. Caitlin didn't mind it, it gave her a break from having to deal with end of the world issues, and allowed her to just deal with normal human issues. She hadn't really expected to find anything out of the ordinary. Caitlin herself was human but was doing just fine after the ash had fallen. No one seem to be complaining. The check up had started rather normally, until she had managed to get a little further in her tests. Pepper had seemed pretty determined to make sure everything was fine, which was the intelligent thing to do, really. Who knew what had been in that ash. She was working on Pepper's blood test, which when you had no other clients didn't take that long to do, when she noticed it. It wasn't quite what she had expected, but it explained why Pepper was pretty much the only person to make her way to the med lab after all of this. It was not much longer until Caitlin was heading back over to Pepper, charts in hand. "Well, for the most part everything is normal." she stated, reading over her own notes. "I'd be happy to go over everything with you. There's just one thing." Caitlin looked up at Pepper, her chart paper pressing against her stomach. She had to wonder if Pepper knew, or if it was only a random chance that she had decided to come here. |
