Derek laughed again, shaking his head. "Duly noted and fair enough," he replied. He was glad to be off the subject, because Derek thought they should get moving and get out of the fog for a bit. The ash was making it difficult to breathe, even through the cloth, and Jack sounded as though he was feeling about the same.
"I think we should both head back, get some water, and rest our lungs for a few minutes. Then we can come back out," he said. "Come on, ten minutes isn't going to kill us to take a break after that, Jack, and you sound like I feel with that cough. Let's get back."
