The softest sound of footsteps jerked Nick's attention away from the gate. He couldn't see anyone through the fog at first, and when she spoke, he took a subtle sniff to make sure he wasn't about to traumatize some poor underage girl. But, nope, he caught the smell of a woman past the age of adolescence. If he had to guess, somewhere about his age. He thought about covering himself up anyway - some women aren't a fan of the whole getting naked on the first meeting for some bizarre reason - but decided not to. He didn't think that hiding when she'd just called out to him would exactly send the right message. He smelled people and other wolves, and he needed water. Desperately.
He just hoped he hadn't walked right into a trap.
"Listen, uh... this might be a little bit awkward," for you, "but you are the first people I've come across in a while, and the first place that might have water or food... clothes?" The last part was a lie. He'd come across quite a few places with clothes. Not all of them had been very fashionable clothing choices, but they'd been there. He'd even put them on during his short stint as a human before ultimately having to undress again to change back into a wolf for his travels. "Maybe some answers? Answers would be good."
