"Oh," Clarke hadn't been expecting that answer. She supposed it made sense that in some worlds, humans would build actual civilizations on other planets. Maybe they would have gotten that far if the war hadn't happened in her world. "Uh, no, I wasn't on a planet."
Apparently that was unusual, even here. "We lived on a space station. Everything was tightly rationed so we didn't have any need for stores."
She was aware of what they were, thanks to the videos and books that they had on board, but had never actually gone to one.
