Ahh, he realized, so she was already well-enough versed in that sort of thing that she wouldn't need to be in his class. Admittedly, that was kind of a bummer, if he was being honest. There was something to be said about meeting face to face. Derek hadn't ever really been all that interested — or good at — technology, favoring an old flip phone over the smartphones practically everyone else in the world seemed to have these days. He didn't need all those bells and whistles. If the damn thing could connect a call or shoot off a text, then it was good enough for him. Now he was strapped with one of the stupid smartphones because he needed to be able to connect to the network. He'd never thought being "online" was very personable, anyway.
