Fiction Post #10
Title: Sardines and Spite
Series: Lackadaisy
Characters/Pairings: Ivy, slight Ivy/Viktor
Rating: G
She thinks she would be willing to give up on Rocky's cousin if Viktor would be her friend again and the thought makes her fiercely unhappy. She likes Freckle, or Calvin or whatever he wants to be called, and she does want to date him and there is absolutely no reason she should see letting Viktor ruin her social life as okay.
She knows it isn't and, once she gets ahold of her outrage and sense of betrayal again, will go back to being furious. For now though, she's exhausted her well of anger and hurt is sitting all sharp-edged and eager for blood at the bottom. And blood she gives it because she just said goodbye (and "you're a monster," and "I give up on you") to one of her favorite people in the world.
She's only ever really lost one person before and Atlas' loss was such a permanent thing that she was able to come to terms with "over" eventually. Viktor isn't dead, he just doesn't want to be her friend anymore. There is an ugly, awful little hope in her heart that she just upset him somehow and they'll fix things. More likely than not, because she is stubborn and because he is stubborn, they won't. They'll have to see each other at work still; she'll have to face him again and accept that he doesn't care anymore.
It makes her sick. Much, much sicker than Mrs. Bapka's sandwiches or a kiss that tasted of sardines and spite.
