“Pretty smiles don’t make up for anything. And seeing as how my wife is nothing like any of them, I can hardly be treating them as though they were married to me. That’s why a wife is a wife, she’s not like any other brainless woman.” That was what it meant to him, anyhow…..Boreas was convinced that he had chosen the one woman worth anything.
“Jonathan? What makes you ask about him?” Boreas shrugged, a little surprised Zeus had recalled him at all. “Just fine. He does what he’s supposed to. Does it even better without distractions.” Boreas glowered at the blank movie screen in front of them, thinking specifically of his mother and of the interest she’d taken in Jonathan for awhile. It had quietly faded away, and he’d been relieved. It would have been a real pain to replace Jonathan.
Dismissing the thought, Boreas looked back at Zeus, sitting beside him as though he had not a care in the world. Probably didn’t. “What about you? What drove you to find this place?”
