The only odd thing about the scruffy mortal sitting on the steps up to the shop was the huge book about Greek mythology on his lap. Of course, he read a line and then scanned the street, but he was doing his best to absorb what he could. Dave actually found some of this stuff interesting; he was currently reading about a dude whose father was his grandfather and who had gotten castrated by some boar. Ouch. To the other mortals passing by, Dave was unremarkable; just an employee sitting outside smoking a cigarette, but he'd been there for hours. Security had tightened, more of his employer's odd friends were staying with them and Marc even had Dave and the other guys watching over some random family.
Whatever was going on, Dave planned to stick with Marc.
His boss was inside, Marijuana finally back at the shop after a long day of deliveries and pick-ups. Harmony was still out on deliveries with Wes as his driver and Marijuana smirked just slightly at the thought of the gruff security manager having to deal with his brother's exuberance for the next few hours. He was close to exhaustion, having stayed up most of the night after his meetings in order to get the downstairs ready for his house guests. These were the Greeks, they deserved to be comfortable at the very least. Nursing a beer in one hand and toking on a joint with the other, he glanced down at the laptop he had set out on the counter, checking to see if there had been any more responses, any more favours needed. There was nothing and he leaned back in his chair, staring up at the ceiling and thinking hard.
He knew doing this would eventually get him into trouble. He knew that both sides would want them to fight. He knew that people were going to come after him and his, but he just couldn't help it. Life was life and although he thought the ancients were out of touch with the modern world, he couldn't just let them die. Should he declare his territory neutral? That would probably create more problems than it would solve.
