He'd been to the Grand Canyon a few times. He'd been to many parts of America a few times. Knew his boys' hometowns - knew the people, knew the places. He was born and bred on this very soil, had had over two hundred years to do some exploring and he wasn't about to leave the US anytime soon.
"I see them all the time when I'm there but I've never actually been on one." It just seemed a little... touristy, and no one likes being the stereotypical tourist with the upside-down map trying to figure out which way's left.
That and he had perfectly good legs and access to a rental car. But it didn't mean he didn't welcome the idea. If he wasn't going to be doing it alone it could be something to joke about in the future.
"We can head out there when it's warmer, in a couple of months."
