Inari was relieved to see a familiar face come out of the shadows and he slowed down for her to catch up. "No, nothing yet. Not even a whisper." He was becoming increasingly worried that they had truly gone back home, or had been forgotten and erased like he'd heard other gods had been. Maybe keeping them around through the ages had been a mistake. He hadn't even been able to say goodbye. He shook his head, veering away from those thoughts. They were out there somewhere, the little pranksters, thinking this was a game to amuse themselves with.
"Thank you for coming, Iris-chan." He put his hands together briefly for a slight bow of gratitude. He was truly glad she was there. "I was about to check the water, unless... you have another idea?" he looked at her hopefully.
