Caerus had set off from his father’s place like he often did…..without any destination in mind. It came as no surprise, then, when he found himself in just the right spot to board a casino.
It was different, alright, at least in this place and time, and it was easy enough to get around any reason why he shouldn’t be there. Once actually on the boat, it was no less easy to find food, drinks, and what little entertainment he wanted. Rather than play his own particular games, he spent a great deal of time just watching.
Playing a few hands of poker just to look over the cards, lingering by laughing, flirty women just to see whose eyes wandered over them. Waiting to see a roulette wheel stop spinning so he could watch the ball come to a stop, sharing a few friendly words so he would be all the more welcomed wherever he wanted to go.
Nothing taxing.
When he came to discover the most interesting thing about where he was, there was never a thought of which of them had more reason to receive the situation as an opportunity - things were almost always in Caerus’ own favour. He had to concede that these days, it was not a sure thing - especially in certain cases like this one - but there was no fear or hesitation in him. He simply stepped out of the crowd and into plain sight when he wanted to be seen, wondering what else he would find different even as he cast a small smile and an even smaller wave at the new but familiar sight across the room.
Without needing to push or squeeze past people, Caerus began the leisurely process of getting himself closer.
