When Verrine approached Mordred shot Laurie that look again, knowing that the kid had a mouth that could peel paint on her. There was no reason for Laurie not to play nice, especially considering Mordred could make things incredibly unpleasant for her if she didn't. He knew full well that outright threats wouldn't work on the girl, but what did work was limiting her visits to a certain hospital-bound police officer.
Smirking at Verrine, Mordred caught her hand as he dipped into a low bow, the bells on his mask jingling merrily. "Why thank you m'lady. Isn't she just a sight?" He lightly kissed her knuckles, not daring to look at the face he knew Laurie was making.
