As they moved together down to the main floor, Ninko, in his pocket closest to Iris, reached out her miniature nose and sniffed at the other deity's dress. Curiously, and unbeknown to her Kami, she pawed at the fabric.
"Anonymity is an empowering thing." Inari agreed, "Something I think everyone here is trying to avoid, outside this party." He chuckled softly and turned his head slightly to see her, but also keeping an eye on the stairs to keep from making a scene. One embarrassment for the evening was enough, thank you. At the last step, he let her decide if she wanted to keep hold of his arm or let it go, now that his gentlemanly assist down the stairs was accomplished, and he began a leisurely walk towards the drink bar.
"For-now-Grace," he teased lightly, "What part of the world does a Goddess as radiant as you originate from? Provided I am not breaking a rule by asking."
His slight accent was Japanese, as though the alabaster skin, visible where the mask ended at his mouth, wasn't enough of a tell as far as that was concerned. The other gods and goddesses, Inari was noticing as he looked around at the other guests, were, as far as he could tell at a glance, no one he was familiar with. He was starting to wish he had done more extensive research on who may be attending tonight. It might actually keep him out of danger, or at the least give him some sort of clue as to who he would be rubbing shoulders with at the table.
He focused on Iris as they reached the drink bar, letting her answer before he tried to decide if he wanted to go in search of tea or sake.
