Who: Triton and OPEN What: The first showing of the ‘Triteia’ collection When: November 13 Where: A nameless building in Hawaii Warnings: None (This will be updated if necessary)
The building was large, and it would be difficult to say if it was a private residence, a hotel, a museum…..or something else entirely. Triton didn’t mind that anyone coming in from other places wouldn’t know….he preferred it. He wanted everything to be fresh, to leave an impression and raise questions that would be pondered over and discussed later.
It had taken a great deal of work to set everything up - not only the sculptures and pantings, the tables and listening stations, the screens and food and all the miscellaneous things that had gone into making this completely different from anything that had come before, but also the discussions with the artists beforehand, the sharing of what Triteia would allow to be shared, the calls and interviews and cataloguing and photographing and printing and recording……the list was endless, and while Triton had had to have help, had to hand off tasks to others, he’d done as much as he could himself. Amaterasu had been there to slow him down when he needed it, and to take him away when he would have gone too far. She’d helped him find the balance that he wouldn’t have admitted to needing on his own. All he had done, however, had been worth it, and if he hadn’t had the choice to have help…..he would have gone ahead and tackled it anyway.
He hadn’t done all he’d wanted to for Triteia, for any of his daughters. Sheltering them from life wouldn’t have been wise, or even kind, but whenever Triton thought of the times he had failed to protect them or make things better, he wished he had done a better job. They should all have been happy, have been bright and vibrant…….and if he had failed then, he would at least do what he could now.
That was gathering as many people as he could possibly could to see and hear and feel what others had created, all in the name of his daughter. Immortals and mortals creating, immortals and mortals coming together to see the resulting art. Sculptures, clothing, jewellery, paintings, music and more all flowed together….no one room held only one type of experience. Everything was intertwined, everything was meant to flow and fit together and yet be as separate as the different facets of a person could be.
Before the doors opened, Triton was there and waiting, and as people he came, he moved through the crowd and spoke to as many people as he could. He introduced creators, thanked everyone for coming, offered answers if questions were asked. He sought out those he’d most wanted to see, and made sure Amaterasu was happy and comfortable.
In short, Triton went all out, as only a father could.
OOC: Tag yourselves and come on in. :D Everyone who said they contributed, your contribution is there, with as much detail on the piece written up to accompany it as you like. If you want to interact with Triton, go ahead, if you want to leave it open to anyone, go ahead - and the more the merrier. There are many, many ways your characters could have heard of this, and everyone's welcome. Also, if you wanted to have contributed something but didn't tell me before, just let me know, I don't see there being a problem with any sudden entries.
