Mark smiled ruefully. "Yeah, I guess you're right. We need friends, or else we're just the creepy neighbors who never talk to anyone. The first time someone goes missing we'll be the ones they come running to arrest." The people he saw walking by were all relatively normal looking anyway. They looked like people that, with a little effort on their part, they could befriend. It might be nice to have mortal friends anyway.
"I haven't told CNN. I want to make sure I get to all my staff first. They're like family, you know, and I want to make sure I get them all set up with other stuff. Even Thalia, even though I know she could probably get a job anywhere she wanted. I've been talking to SNL and 30 Rock, so I'll get them each something." If he sounded sentimental it was because he was going to miss his pot smoking boys more than he was willing to admit aloud. "I only told Thalia first because she's a god. It seemed like the right thing to do," Mark shrugged.
He tilted his head, considering what Glibt had said. "Do you-- um, do you and Thomas have a lot of lunches together?"
