WHO: Set & Nephthys WHEN: Friday, around midnight WHERE: A hotel in San Fransisco WHAT: Going to see Set after reading Cara's post WARNINGS: They'll either argue or have sex... or both, knowing them.
The night goddess wondered how had she possibly made it to the age she was now.
Nephthys swore at the computer screen in front of her but instead of carrying on the upset and anger she ended up curling her frail body into the corner of her room at the manor and weeping over what she couldn't help losing over and over again.
Set was leaving. Nephthys had finally managed to feel him again, finally managed to regain enough of her strength for that, and now he was going to go further from her and back to his little mortal child. Nephthys would be left alone while her brothers found their way past all that had happened. Why could Set and Nephthys never be allowed that simple happiness as well?
Finally she drew herself up from the floor and went to shower, knowing she had to focus on other things. But all that Nephthys could think of was chances lost and how she wanted to be with Set, just for one night before he left again. Perhaps if they could have just one night of giving into each other then she could move past it. (She knew it was a lie she was telling herself but she wanted it to be true. Needed just this little lie tonight.)
And so when Nephthys found herself at the hotel she could feel him in she told herself it was for the greater good, that once she had him out of her system then she could better be on guard against him. She wouldn't give in again. It would be just once. Just tonight.
Just, just, just. So many lies over so many years and Nephthys had no idea how she had gotten this ancient without any wisdom to show for it. She was, at heart, still a teenage girl desperately in love when it came to her brother.
His room was easy to find because every cell in her body sung for him and drew her closer. She knocked with a heavy hand, already finding it hard to breath.
