Who: Epione and OPEN
Where: Roosevelt Hospital - ER and cafeteria
When: September 23, lunchtime
Rating/Warnings: Maybe some blood and gore.
Thump thump.
Thump thump.
Thump thump.
Epione listened carefully to the patients heart, timing it carefully and seemingly pleased with the result "110/68," she recited to the patient. "If your blood pressure stays like for the next hour we'll let you go."
There was nothing quite like soothing the pains of a patient, especially when said patient came out alive at the end of the day. The cold, hard truth was that even the most skilled doctors and nurses lost patients. It was like a rule of life, and it wasn't something Epione liked to think about. Going on with her day and pushing out any thoughts of losing someone was best far from her mind. That was why it was so relieving when they recovered quickly.
For the patient, she knew it was a matter of how quickly they could get in and our of the ER. Roosevelt had more than enough people filter in and out of the ER that it kept the doctors and nurses on their toes. A gunshot here, a stabbing there, dismembered body parts that needed reattaching. And Epione was always there to administer the drugs that would calm them and take away the pain. She preferred that part of her job, but she did have to stitch people up on a daily basis.
Pulling her gloves off, she closed the curtain around her patient and walked off to the nurses station. With a glance at the clock, she was pleased to see it was finally time for her to take a break. Half her shift was finished. Replenishing her energy was the first thing on her list, so she headed straight for the cafeteria.
