George was inclined to spoil and Thomas definitely wanted to lap up every bit of attention he could get from any family member. It wasn't so much that he thought his parents were neglectful at all, any of the four, but he did know that they were all very busy, just like he was, and that his schedule often didn't overlap with theirs. And since he was left to his own devices so often - which he liked, just not all the time - any chance to spend time with family, and particularly George, was something that Thomas would cherish. He'd even managed to start thinking of the immortal as 'Great-Grandfather George' instead of 'oh-my-god-George-Washington', which Thomas thought was considerable progress, although he knew he likely wouldn't stop capitalizing 'Great-Grandfather' in his head just yet.
Still smiling at George, Thomas drew his legs up and underneath him to cross, his small frame fitting in the chair all folded up nicely. It may make him look childish yet again, but whatever damage could have been done by allowing himself to frolic, well, it had already taken effect and Thomas wanted to be comfortable. "I do appreciate it, greatly! I'm used to cities, so being out here in the nature, where everything is so big and grand and not at all noisy like New York..." Thomas trailed off, not wanting to babble too much and simply giving his Great-Grandfather another sheepish shrug. "I really like it."
Thomas suppressed a yawn; he could act like an adult, but children always got tired after playing for so long and with so much gusto. But it was a good kind of tired, a happy tired, and the happiness would be enough to keep him alert. And the thought of a puppy of his very own made his eyes grow wide and Thomas' smile widened, all thoughts of being worn down forgotten. "I would love that! I don't think Dad will want a dog around, but maybe later, whenever I get my own place! And we're taking Papa's puppy back to him and Father, right? So I can ask if I can come and visit him every now and then!" Thomas' happiness was palpable in the air around him; he would get to have his very own dog eventually!
